LEGISLATIVE

Work with chapter Government Affairs committee with the formation of public policy     affecting the commercial real estate industry as it relates to green building and sustainable     development.  To inform the committee and members of chapter legislative issues affecting    sustainable development.  Work with local officials and municipal planning departments regarding local support of sustainable development programs and practices.  Items to focus on for committee: tax credits, incentives, and grants.

Design and development of the Sustainable Development website which is linked off of   the NAIOPNV corporate site. The website will include informational material on sustainable development through links, articles, newsletters, case studies, and news. The website will also provide upcoming national events and related events.

SUSTAINABLE AWARENESS

Identify ‘green’ practices and social responsibility in local chapter: recycling in NAIOP utilized facilities, bus tour collateral (recycled products, organic t-shirts and tote bags, offsetting emissions, replace plastic with recycled products, or organic origin.) Incorporate ‘Green Tips’ in monthly breakfast meetings.
