NAIOP So. Nevada’s 18th annual tournament a success
NAIOP hosted its 18th annual spring golf tournament at Spanish Trail Golf and Country Club, one of the valley’s premier golf clubs, on April 28. While the slowed economy has hurt many charity and organization golf tournaments this spring, NAIOP membership showed up in force.

“It was another successful event thanks to our dedicated players and sponsors that make this event happen,” said NAIOP Golf Committee Chairman Guyan Long.
Golf committee member Ellie Shattuck of Martin Harris Construction agreed. “We were oversold again this year,” she said. “It was a tremendous showing of support.”
All proceeds help support NAIOP Southern Nevada’s Commercial Real Estate Political Action Committee (CRE-PAC). Both sponsors and players said they benefited from participating at this year’s experience and are looking forward to the fall event.
“I enjoyed sponsoring a tee and being able to interact with all the players,” said Erin Olson of Ecolite Integrated Building Systems, whose company sponsored the No. 6 tee on the Lakes Course. “Participation was outstanding.”
Long-time NAIOP and community supporter Martin Harris Construction purchased a team in the spring golf event. Ray Newmiller, the company’s vice president of pre-construction, used the outing to further develop relationships.
“We invited an architect and two clients to the tournament,” he said, “and had a heck of a time and enjoyed the day.”
