Principal Member of the Year

The NAIOP Southern Nevada chapter selected Michael Shohet of Territory Incorporated as the 2010 Principal Member of the Year.
An active member of NAIOP since 2005, Shohet was a member of the inaugural DLI class and serves as the Chair of the Sustainable Development Committee for 2010. He also serves on the Developing Leaders Institute Committee, which assists in preparing young NAIOP members for successful careers in the commercial real estate industry, and the Government Affairs Committee.
As a project manager, Shohet manages the development process and ensures projects remain on schedule and within budget. He joined Territory in 2005, and has overseen the development of projects totaling over 800,000 square feet, including Newpark Town Center, a mixed use project in Park City, Utah, and Centennial Gateway in the Centennial Hills area, two of the company’s principal projects.
In addition, Shohet serves in a volunteer position for Keep Memory Alive as the owner’s representative on the Lou Ruvo Brain Institute project. Shohet worked closely with Frank Gehry’s design team and the construction team in bringing this project to a successful completion.
Shohet has more than 15 years of hands-on engineering and construction experience, and has been involved in construction and development projects ranging in size from several million to several billion dollars.
Shohet is a registered professional engineer in his native Canada and has a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from Queens University in Kingston, Ontario.
