NAIOP OFFICE BROKER OF THE YEAR
DANA BERGGREN, LEED AP, PRUDENTIAL|IPG COMMERCIAL REAL ESTATE

Dana Berggren’s 2009 was full of accomplishments. When faced with poor market conditions, Dana had 53 lease transactions and 4 sale transactions. Notable clients included SAXA, Inc, for whom she sold/leased 25,000 sf of office space helping to close out two remaining developments. Dana also represented The Koll Company in leasing, renewing and renegotiating their local portfolio of nearly 400,000 sf during a depressed year. The majority of her transactions involved NAIOP members, numerous referrals were exchanged with other commercial real estate professionals. Dana’s production qualified her for Prudential Real Estate’s Leading Edge Society in 2009 and she was subsequently promoted to Vice President.
Dana is an active member of the Education Committee and co-organized the highly acclaimed Summer School 101 classes enlisting the participation of esteemed members such as Panattoni, Territory, Inc., Majestic Realty Co., Thomas and Mack and American Nevada Company. She spearheaded the LEED workshop taught by Wright Engineers and planned the LEED 2009 update class and Networking in a Virtual World. All of which were free, members-only workshops. Realizing that a down market is an excellent opportunity for education and self-improvement, Dana obtained her LEED AP designation in April 2009 and will test for the CCIM designation in April 2010.
Dana is also involved with the Sustainable Development Committee, attending their tour of Acciona’s Nevada Solar One and creating the Monthly Green Tips slide for the breakfast meetings. She attended the Bus Tour where she helped organize the Side Show educational offerings. She was also a member of the inaugural class of the Developing Leaders Institute. Her proudest achievement, however, has been mentoring students through NAIOP’s partnership with the UNLV Lied School for Real Estate Studies.
Dana volunteers for Keep Memory Alive and is planning a 5K to benefit Progressive Supranuclear Palsy, a neurodegenerative disease that took her father’s life at age 63.
