For the third consecutive year, Dekker/Perich/Sabatini Architects (DPS) earned Architecture Firm of the Year honors.
Since the firm’s Las Vegas Valley opening in 1988, DPS officials said they owe their success to its market-driven and client-oriented philosophy. With projects in both the private and public sectors, DPS continues to impress. Zweig White & Associates, Inc has ranked DPS in the top 100 fastest-growing architectural-engineering firms in the United States six times since 2000.
Today, the firm has been able to maintain its market share in the office and/or industrial sectors of the business market. With its interior design and in-house structural capabilities, the firm focuses on both office and retail work. Eighteen principals lead 165 DPS associates, in DPS’s three regional offices in nine practice areas: commercial, education, government, healthcare, housing, interiors, planning, landscape architecture and structural engineering. Led by Christopher W. Larsen, AIA, a NAIOP Board Director, the Las Vegas office currently employs 12 people. DPS has earned more than 90 national, regional and local design awards, including Firm of the Year by the American Institute of Architects, Western Mountain Region in 2002. DPS architects utilize vision, creativity, and their expertise in sustainable design to produce projects that are a step above the rest.
Some of the firm’s recent award winning projects include Discovery Gateway Flex Incubator Industrial project, Pinnacle Entertainment Tenant Improvements, Hills Center North – Bldg 4 office and the UNLV Science & Engineering Building.
DPS associates are actively involved in professional organizations related to the architecture, planning, interior design, engineering and landscape services, including NAIOP and AIA. Other firm associations include the Urban Land Institute, U.S. Green Building Council, AGC, and Council of Education Facilities Planners.
Not only is Christopher Larsen a NAIOP Board Director, he has also served as the Bus Tour committee chair & board liaison for numerous years. He is also currently the board liaison for the programs committee. Among other DPS associates involved in NAIOP are Lori Lea who has served as the chair for the Spotlight Awards subcommittee in 2009 & is also active in the programs & golf committees. Nikki Robinson is an active member of the spotlight committee as well as David Almany being an active member of the government affairs committee as well as a member of the current DLI class.
The firm’s staff gives back to the community by volunteering in organizations such as the Hinman Elementary School – Backpack program, Feeding the Hungry at St. Timothy’s, Safe House for Battered Women, Henderson Leadership, United Way, Vegas PBS and Child Haven.
