DLI Profile – Jennifer Turchin
Jennifer joined e2 in 2008 and quickly became actively involved in NAIOP. Not only is she a member of the Development Leaders Institute (DLI) class of 2009/2010, she also serves on the Sustainable Development and the Education committees. Jennifer chose to work with e2 because her personal interests and the firm’s mission are a perfect fit. Her expertise and concern for environmentally responsible development, along with additional e2 staff expertise, enable the firm to resolve sustainable design challenges and turn those solutions into assets. Jennifer said, “Current environmental concerns affect everyone, and building a more sustainable society is critical. The trend in commercial real estate is to incorporate viable, cost-effect, green technologies that will soon become the standard for all future building.” Jennifer and e2’s involvement in NAIOP has provided an opportunity to promote sustainability in Southern Nevada and to educate others as to the advantages of green building. Her active role in the Education committee has proven valuable NAIOP. Jennifer has presented educational seminars on LEED Certification to NAIOP members and has served as a sub-committee chair of several educational events. Jennifer feels that “NAIOP provides tremendous opportunities to share technical skills and development knowledge that support the business case for sustainable development.” Although relatively recent, Jennifer already credits her involvement in NAIOP for making key business contacts and establishing long-lasting friendships. “This is one of the best professional organizations for those who desire to make a professional difference, gain skills and knowledge, and partner with others in the business community.” Las Vegas has been home to Jennifer and her husband Kevin for the last six years. Prior to moving to Las Vegas, Jennifer attended Montana State University where she earned a master’s degree in architecture and a bachelor of arts degree in environmental design. Jennifer is also a member of the Southern Nevada Officials Association through which she officiates both high school and college volleyball matches. In her spare time she enjoys snowboarding at Brian Head and hiking at Mount Charleston and Red Rock. Written by:
