“I am very proud of our chapter for such an important accomplishment,” said John Restrepo, president of the Southern Nevada Chapter of NAIOP. “The large number and variety of awards we took home, shows what a strong chapter we have. I want to thank everyone, from the Board to the committee chairs and to our individual members, for contributing their time, talent and treasure last year. It takes a team effort to win Chapter of the Year, NAIOP's top national award, and for that, we should all be proud.”

Points for the Chapter of the Year category were awarded based on chapter education, NAIOP National involvement, government affairs involvement, member recruitment and retention activities, chapter communication, civic and community activities, student activities and chapter management procedures. The chapter received a trophy as well as a $1,000 educational grant for the honor. This was the first time in its 21-year history the chapter received this award.

The Southern Nevada Chapter was in the large-group category of 500 or more members and was judged for each category on a scale of 100 possible points by a panel of independent judges. With more than 800 members, the Southern Nevada chapter of NAIOP is the fourth largest chapter in the nation.

The Chapter Leadership and Legislative Retreat was held February 10-13th in Washington, D.C. This annual gathering provides exceptional education sessions and the opportunity to network with chapter leaders from across the country.
